We caught up with registered pharmacist and all-round football addict Mariame Choucair to talk health-care, Miralem Pjanic and the West Germany 1990 home kit.
Hey Mariame! Firstly could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hey! I'm a Sydney based full-time registered Pharmacist for nearly 10 years now, I enjoy helping people through my work, making a difference in their lives through patient-centred health care.
Football is my passion and alter-ego, and has given me countless opportunities within the industry to expand the passion. I began blogging about the game about 5 years ago, and picked up interest from ProDirect Soccer, which ultimately led to being involved in exciting projects in Sydney such as posting a live feed directly onto ProDirect’s instagram account for the Sydney Derby.
I’ve dabbled in futsal commentary for Series Futsal NSW and have been lucky enough to interview footballing legends such as former Captain/Socceroo - Paul Wade through M-Series Futsal and Sydney FC playmaker - Milos Ninkovic through The Ladies League. Also, I’ve been involved in projects with Adidas, Nike, Puma and Samsung Australia with a major highlight of being able to travel and chat with Miralem Pjanic of Juventus in Melbourne.
To this day, I play football for my local club, work in conjunction with UltraFootball (the largest football retailer in the Southern Hemisphere) and follow Sydney FC avidly, attending match days as well as away days.

Words cannot explain just what this means to me. I was fortunate enough to interview the greatest number 10 the @aleague has ever seen thanks to @theladiesleague - the Serbian magician @milos_ninkovic_official 🇷🇸💙 I have been a long standing fan of this amazing footballer since he graced our pitches for @sydneyfootballclub back in 2015, and after our chat about life in Sydney, what being a part of the #SkyBlue family means to him and what it takes to be a professional I've discovered that not only is he a phenomenal footballer but an outstanding human being who emulates the best of the beautiful game ⚽️ Thank you Milos for taking the time out of your busy pre-season training to have a chat, it was an absolute honour and a privilege 🙏 Thank you once again to @theladiesleague for the opportunity, I am forever grateful 💖 Check out the full interview on YouTube - TLL TV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fXeWM7-Kuw&t=15s #milosninkovic #interview #bucketlist #Sydneyisskyblue #FORZASYDNEYFC #magicmilos #number10 #football #champion #legend #GOAT
How did you first get involved with football?
Backyard football started it all, I grew up playing the game in the backyard with my two older sisters and dad. That progressed into watching grainy SBS coverage of the World Cup USA 94’ and manifested into a passion that constantly grew, evolved and has ballooned into something unstoppable.
Now, which Kit have you chosen for your MY KIT?
West Germany Home Shirt 1990.
What is it about this kit that connects with you?
The iconic three stripe template of German tri-colour, it screams vintage Adidas. This kit made me fall in love with football shirts and began a hobby of collecting Germany National Team kits to which I own about 20 now.
Which players are most synonymous with this kit for you?
Definitely Lothar Matthaus and Jurgen Klinsmann.
Favourite Memory of the kit?
(I have no memories haha sorry) but I love this kit too damn much!
